Christmas Gifts for the Natural

Christmas is around the corner. Even though there is no snow in my part of Sweden, all the Christmas decorations make it clear that it's that time of year. So, Christmas means shopping for gifts, right? Well here are a few tips for those of you who are shopping gifts for naturals.

Satin or Silk Pillow Case - Great gift for the natural! Satin and silk does not dry out the hair as cotton does, so for those who don't want to sleep with a scarf or a bonnet this is a great gift.

Book on Being Natural - Now I haven't read that many, yet, but I would recommend Thank God I'm Natural or Hair Rules. You can order them in your online book store.

Bobby Pins - Now I know that I might have a personal obsession with bobby pins (yeahyeah), but I think this is an essential tool for styling hair. And a girl can't have too many bobby pins, right? :) ('Cause honestly, they always get lost).

Wide Tooth Comb - Every natural, whether male or female with some curls on the top of their head should use a wide tooth comb to get rid of knots and tangles. Preferably this comb should be made in plastic or wood (not metal!).

Water Spray Bottle - This might feel like somewhat of a strange gift to give away. But it's a really useful one. As moisture is a natural's best friend a way to easily add a dose of moisture is to spray some water on the curls. There are a bunch of different spray bottles you can find, price, color and size wary.

Satin/Silk Scarf or Satin Bonnet - Protecting natural hair while sleeping helps retain moisture. And these days when it's cold a satin scarf or bonnet should be placed under you hat so the wool from your hat doesn't steal the moisture out of your hair. This is a great gift, since it might not be the most fun to spend money on, but to receive it as a gift is excellent.

Accessories - There are so many cute hair accessories out there, flowers, pins, chop sticks... the list goes on and on. You can find great accessories for hair almost anywhere these days, so pick something that would look pretty on the person the gift is for. Or if you are the arts and crafts kind of person make some accessories by yourself.

Happy Christmas Shopping!
